During the month of June, the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea will present an exhibit of textile and fiber art. The show will include quilts, weavings, leis and all types of art work created using fiber products, including fabrics, yarns and threads.
During the month of June, the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea will present an exhibit of textile and fiber art. The show will include quilts, weavings, leis and all types of art work created using fiber products, including fabrics, yarns and threads.
This unique collection of traditional and contemporary functional and decorative pieces will be available for viewing and purchase. There will be quilts, both patchwork and Hawaiian-style applique, plus original designs with a contemporary style.
In addition, attendees will find woven works from the members of the Hawaii Island chapter of the Hawaii Hand Weavers Hui.
The exhibit opened Wednesday and runs through June 24 at the Firehouse Gallery. The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
